A must for all youth workers!

This book comes out at a perfect time. With churches having to cut budgets all over the country, Lars gives great ideas for youth workers to think outside the box. Let's face it, we are in a society, where we must GO BIG or GO HOME...Well this book helps youth workers continue to GO BIG, but no have to spend as Big or anything at all. Lars has great suggestions for every area of ministry. I found several great new ideas from this book. I also discovered ideas that I've used years ago that I'm going to resurrect. This book works for Volunteer Youth Workers, Part-Time Youth Workers, and Full-Time Youth workers. It doesn't matter what denomination you serve in, this book will help you use your resources wisely and also find new ones that you would have never thought of in a million years! From front to back, you will not be disappointed! And you'll use it again and again. I know I will!

Great Resource for Such a Time As This

This book came out at a perfect time. As the world's economy is crashing many ministry budgets are feeling more than a pinch. Youth Ministry on a Shoestring: How to Do More with Less gives youth leaders hope that ministry can continue. It's just a matter of rediscovering resources and learn how to use what is already available. Author, Lars Rood covers everything from meeting spaces, technology, transportation and even how to get the youth ministry mainstay, pizza. It's written in a very easy to read way, as if a fellow team member was sharing with you over a cup of coffee. He challenges youth leaders to dream big, get creative, network, ask for help and see what God does. Many of the ideas will unify the church and community as they work together to minster to the youth in their areas. The possibilities are endless.

Powerfully Practical

Youth workers in today's economy need this book, whether it will help them maximize their church budget or develop a more empathetic partnership with families. Not only does it give you outstanding ideas, but it poses a question at the end of each chapter that develops forward thinking. I only wish I'd read this years ago... I might have better maximized my church budget and operated with greater common sense. I'm so thankful Lars Rood put together some great hindsight that will gives others better foresight.
