About the Author
Marsha Hubler is a homeschool consultant, evaluator, and educator specializing in elementary education and learning disabilities. She and her husband, Richard, were foster parents to countless children for more than eleven years. They live in Middleburg, Pennsylvania.

Southern Belle

Marsha Huber's Keystone Stables books are amazing stories of troubled teens and how God's love can change lives. In books 1 and 2 we met Skye and Morgan and their adoptive parents, the Chambers. Now Tanya Bell enters the picture, a runaway African-American girl with numerous run-ins with the law for shoplifting, a habit she isn't eager to relinquish. Loving her in spite of her obnoxious ways proves difficult, especially for two teens who love the life the Chambers provide at Keystone Stables. The Chambers offer a loving, caring environment for the girls the court sends to them, but for the girls, the main attraction is their love for the horses on the ranch. When Southern Belle, one of Keystone Stable's mares, dies giving birth to a foal, Tanya is transformed by the experience. She assumes responsibility for the foal and through Skye's friendship, she learns what it means to love and be loved. Instead of running from her problems, she turns to God for the help no one else can give her. She learns to deal with her past and to pursue a path that takes her back to her adoptive parents and leads to a productive life.
The Keystone Stable books teach the reader a great deal about horses while teaching them important life lessons. These books teach or reinforce the values of love, friendship, truthfulness, honesty, forgiveness, responsibility, hard work and the love of God. I highly recommend all these books for tween girls (ages 10-16) who love horses and a good story.

Youth horse books

great horse book for younger girls. If you haven't read the keystone stables series you will love it. If you have...don't be misled like I was..the first four book are the same book with a different cover..although cute and more modern...we ended up with the same book. after the fourth they are new, that is just a word of wise. IF you haven't read them, you'll love them

Fantastic book

Southern Bell's special gift is a splendid book. I've read it twice and it didn't get boring. It is a little sad in some parts but the end is happy. Putting God and horses together makes the book great for christian horse lovers.
I love this book! And I'm sure you will to.
