She holds a master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri. She lives with her husband and seven-year-old son in Lenexa, KS.

Not the normal high standard.

My son loved Larry Boy and Veggie Tales. We have many of their books and videos. Normally Big Idea puts out phenominal products. I was pretty disappointed with this book. It did not live up to the high standard that Big Idea usually puts out. Normally they have a graet messagte in the book to teach the kids something in a unique way, this book just seamed to be a bunch of pages that ryhmed.

So-So - A review of the 'Tip, Top Cape Shape' Boardbook

They mention 'glorifying God' in both of the professional reviews above, but you won't find any mention of God in this boardbook. Instead, the focus is on good and bad habits: what Larry-boy is inclined to do (bad habit), and what his wise friend and faithful servant Alfred suggests he do (good habit).
The following provides an example of Alfred chastising Larry:
"Master Larry,
goofing off
does not a hero make.
You're singing songs
playing games,
and eating
chocolate cake"
Other contrasts include: hefting dumb-bells versus playing cow-bells; and going running versus chowing down cake. But never fear, it all works out in the end when our two friends decide to compromise and work together by beginning their exercise regimen with a walking program.
Two Stars. [D+] Cute art. The rhyme makes it a good Read-aloud, although the story is more or less absent. I have to wonder who this board book is targeting. It "IS" a board book for babies and toddlers, after all, and yet it is talking about workouts and diets.
