Good for giving, too!

After reading a friend's older copy, I ordered it to give my nieces and nephews. The repeating phrase is good for younger learners. It shows kids that they can do somethings (play outside), and why they can't do others (cross the street alone). My friend's book has a Biblical values section at the end (maybe about obeying?), but sadly the books I received do not have this. It's also been rewritten a little: the original title was "Mommy, May I Hug the Fishes?".

great book for toddlers about safety!!

I love this little book! It is really hard to find books to read to young children about safety that they will understand. But, they will understand this book AND it's not just no, no, no. The pages alternate between yes and no--what is safe to do and what isn't. My two little girls have loved it and I have to as a homeschooling mom!

Fun read and great lessons

I overheard a mother reading this book to her little girl while in the waiting room at our doctor's office. I immediately came home and ordered it :) My 2 yr old loves it - we read it 2 or 3 times each day. The lessons taught are simple and the repetition of "yes, yes, yes" or "no, no, no" keep my little one involved and looking forward to her cues to respond like the mother in the book. It has great rhythm and just enough words on each page to get the point across without losing little one's attention.
