A Sweet Retreat

Sometimes the circumstances of our suffering may not change, but poet, Cheryl Ricker, reminds her readers that the circumstances of our heart can be changed in the midst of them by a keen awareness of God's faithful presence. Ricker consistently points her readers to Scripture, while each of her rhythmic poems offers the hope that comes only from the "God of Hope" (Romans 15:13). Real Encouragement For a Friend

As soon as I started reading A Friend in the Storm, I thought of three friends who are going through trials right now that would be comforted by the words in this book.
I don't usually pick up a book and order three more, but that is exactly what I did.
It is so hard to offer encouragement without coming off as drippy -or worse - preachy. This book is the perfect balance of care and hope.

Great Book to give away!

Cheryl Ricker has written a marvelous book that touches, not only the heart of the reader, but also the soul. I have used it for a friend with cancer, and another friend who just lost his wife. You should definitely give this book a place on your, or a friends, book shelf.
