About the Author
Miles Van Pelt (PhD, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) is the Alan Belcher Professor of Old Testament and Biblical Languages at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi, where he also serves as Academic Dean. Miles lives in Madison, Mississippi, with his wife, Laurie, and their four children.

I give this a four star rating because the information is accurate but I have difficulty listening to his pronunciation of the words. While it is useful to Christians who are just using this to learn to read the words and not actually read this in public for a Jew it is problematic. Other than the pronunciation on the DVD the course is great. It is very interesting and prepared and you will learn Aramaic. But I would probably take the E-teacher course over this one even for the extra cost.

Overall an excellent bundle. The material is easy to read, although I did find a typo or two - nothing major or that caused any concern. The lectures videos are of good quality. Also on the disc is a pdf containing the charts used in each chapter. These are colored, which makes it easier to see the form changes. Vowels and dagesh changes are sometimes hard to see in black and white charts. Having an answer sheet for the exercises would be nice, but I understand why it is not included. Overall an excellent resource. If you follow the material and complete all the work, you will have translated every Aramaic verse contained in the Old Testament.
